Terms of use
Version privacy-2026-10-draft-4, 06/10/2026
These terms apply when you use Bisacc Learn. It is run by Roxanne De Coning t/a Bisacc Bookkeeping (sole proprietor), referred to as "we" or "us". By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Please read them, especially the section Limits on our responsibility. If you don't agree, please don't create an account.
Who may join
- If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms and our privacy policy on your behalf before you can use the course. We email them to ask, and your account waits until they agree.
- We check every new account before it gets access to a course, unless you were invited. We may decline a sign-up.
Your account
- Your account is for you alone. Don't share your password or let anyone else use your account.
- Use your real full name and date of birth. Your name appears on your certificate.
- Keep your email address up to date, because we use it to sign you in.
About the course
- The Basic Bookkeeping course is an online course in bookkeeping for South Africa. It is based on the CAPS curriculum, but it is not accredited. Your certificate is a certificate of completion from Bisacc Learn. It is not a SAQA-registered qualification and is not on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
- The course teaches bookkeeping for learning purposes. It is not professional, tax, accounting or legal advice. VAT and tax are not covered in this course.
- The case-study business, Kleinbos Coffee Roasters, and the people and businesses it deals with are made up. Any likeness to a real business or person is a coincidence.
- We may improve or update the course material from time to time. Your completed lessons stay completed.
Fees
There is no payment on this website at the moment. If a course has a fee, we will tell you the price, how to pay and our refund rules before you pay, and you only pay if you choose to.
Using the course material
All lessons, exercises, quizzes, case-study material, pictures and videos on Bisacc Learn belong to Bisacc Bookkeeping or are used with permission. You may use them for your own learning. You may not copy, share, sell or publish them, and you may not share quiz or final assessment questions or answers with anyone.
Quizzes, the final assessment and certificates
- Do the quizzes and the final assessment yourself, without help from anyone else.
- The pass mark is 70% for each module quiz and for the final assessment.
- You may attempt the final assessment up to 3 times in any 30-day period.
- Your certificate shows the name on your account when you pass, so check it is correct before you take the final assessment.
- Anyone with your certificate's verification code can check it on our website. They see your name, the course, the date and whether the certificate is valid.
- We may withdraw a certificate that was obtained dishonestly. The verification page then shows that it is no longer valid.
Using the site fairly
Please don't try to get into anyone else's account or information, interfere with how the site works, or copy the course material automatically. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
Ending your account
You can delete your account and data at any time from your Account page. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your information, including the certificate record we keep unless you choose to delete it too.
Availability
We aim to keep Bisacc Learn running at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when one of our service providers has a problem. Your progress is saved as you go.
Limits on our responsibility
We take care to make the course material accurate, but it is meant for learning. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the course material for real bookkeeping, or from the site being unavailable.
This does not limit our responsibility for gross negligence, and nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with the course or with how we have treated you, please contact us first at info@bisacc.co.za, and we will try to sort it out. If we can't, you may complain to the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za). Complaints about your personal information can also go to the Information Regulator, as our privacy policy explains.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we will update the version and date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will email you before it takes effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
